Lynn Morin was born and raised in Connecticut. She has spent most of her life in New Haven County, where she still resides today. After earning a B.A. in English, she spent her early professional years working in corporate communications. Always having a strong desire to help others since her teen years, she went back to school to get her M.S. in Counseling. She has been working as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001. Shortly after her change in careers, she gave her life to the Lord. She made this most important decision after searching for explanations for the injustices and human suffering she witnessed in her work, as well in her own personal crises. She found the answer in Christ. She has been enjoying her wonderful journey with Him ever since that day!
Lynn works with pre-teens, teens, women, couples, and families. She enjoys helping people with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse and addictions, self-injurious behaviors, sexual abuse history, as well as issues related to grief/loss, forgiveness, relationships, and anger. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy - emphasizing the importance of a collaborative relationship between therapist and client - one of mutual trust and respect - with techniques best suited for the client and the issues they want to work on. These include: cognitive-behavioral therapy, which targets identifying and changing unhealthy thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, God, circumstances, and the world in general, which impact how we react and behave; and psychodynamic insight oriented therapy - which increases self-awareness and understanding of our past and its influence on our present behavior. She is passionate about helping people improve their relationship with God and remove any barriers to intimacy with Him. She would like to see people live the life God intended for them and for Christ to be able to fully live through them.
Lynn loves worship, prayer, and reading and studying God's Word. She currently volunteers in her church's bookstore. In the past, she has taught Sunday school for middle and high school students, and helped with Vacation Bible School and the church nursery. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two beautiful step-daughters, and their two dogs and cat.
