MARY ANN MOSHER, M.A.

Clinical Therapist

Safe Harbor Christian Counseling of Connecticut Staff

Mary Ann Mosher graduated from The University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. She worked for the State of Massachusetts in a psychiatric hospital and later taught Pre-K for 16 years. Mary Ann thoroughly enjoyed working with children, but knew that she wanted to further her education and enter into one of the “helping professions”. When her 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer, the time and emotional energy consumed by treatment and multiple surgeries delayed her return to school. During that dark time in her life, the grace of God sustained her and the power of God was made manifest in the healing of her daughter’s cancer. She obtained a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Mary Ann has worked with adolescents and adults with substance abuse and/or mental health issues in both individual and group settings. Her experience includes working with clients who struggle with panic attacks, anxiety, and depression.

Believing that the way we think influences how we feel and behave, she approaches counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective. Scripture says “For as he thinks in his heart, so he is” (Prov. 23:7, NKJV), and “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2 NKJV). Through the healing power of Christ, we can experience mind renewal and be free to live life abundantly as He promised in John10:10.

Mary Ann is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, International Association for Theophostic Ministry, and Connecticut Counseling Association.

She has three adult children who love and serve God and lives with her husband of 33 years and a very entertaining Golden Retriever.
